They're Random, Baby!

The Siege of Madrigal Egg in Halo 3: ODST

On October 28, 2009, Marty O'Donnell finally broke down and publicly admitted that the Siege of Madrigal piano piece (originally written for Myth, present as an easter egg in Halo, Halo 2, and Halo 3) was also in ODST. 11 hours later, PyroSporker16 and ZPO4O recorded its location in Kikowani Station. They did this on Legendary - but they didn't have to. In fact, on Legendary, you're not even supposed to be able to hear the piano piece - because there's a DIFFERENT animation that shows. (They got both.)

The film below was recorded from their 28 minute movie - it shows just enough of the level to help you find the proper ledge on your own (it's just past the second hangar area), plus the egg itself.

Marty acknowledged the find in the Marty Army forum. You can't read his post if you aren't a member of the Marty Army, so it's reproduced here:

Contest over.

Winner!

Actually, there's an interesting twist. You don't have to get to this on Legendary despite the rumors. As a matter of fact, Pyro never plays Siege, but instead plays the thing that only occurs on Legendary where Siege should be playing. Yes, there was a conspiracy of lunatics here at Bungie that got me...

Anyway, nice work. You'll get the soundtrack soon. And there are a bunch of idiots here that thank you.

He's right - you can certainly find the egg on other difficulties... you just get the piece by itself, no animation. Here it is on Normal:

Congrats to PyroSporker16 and ZPO4O - and thanks to Marty for egging us on!
